Management Accounting: Where From, Where Now, Where To?Wim A. Van der StedeLondon School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) June 4, 2014 Journal of Management Accounting Research, Vol. 27, No. 1, pp. 171-176, Spring 2015 Abstract: During the Journal of Management Accounting Research (JMAR) 25th Anniversary Panel at the AAA Management Accounting Midyear Conference in Orlando, January 2014, the panelists were asked by JMAR Editor Ranjani Krishnan to reflect on the following three questions: (a) In what management accounting research topics do we have established knowledge? (b) What are some common themes in management accounting at the present time? (c) What do we need to learn in management accounting, going forward? In other words, where from, where now, and where to? I pondered these three questions for the panel presentation. This brief article synthesizes my remarks.
