Abstract

Musical works form an integral part of subject matter entitled to copyright protection. The protection of rights in a musical work is crucial not only to the original creators of the work, but also to entities who may have been assigned the rights to these. Royalty and remuneration, being driving factors for such enterprises, these corporations seek to protect their work effectively against misuse and misappropriation — the increasing litigation in the arena being witness to the same.
