Abstract

The field of project management has exploded in recent years. But with this expansion of project numbers, resources, tools and personnel required to manage ever-more complex projects has come a host of new challenges. Economic conditions have also placed pressure on the project management function.

Fortunately, new research and insights have recently emerged from the study of complex organizational projects and their management. An awareness of these five new ideas will confer a competitive edge to those organizations and project managers seeking to add maximum value to projects.
