Abstract
There were five real-life listed securities referred to in the Sherlock Holmes Canon: Venezuelan bonds; shares in the Glasgow and South-Western Railway Company; New Zealand consolidated stock; shares in British Broken Hill Proprietary Co Ltd; and shares in Canadian Pacific Railway Company.
The paper discusses all of those securities. The paper also discusses various securities held by Conan Doyle. An overlap exists between those securities referred to in the Canon and those held by Conan Doyle.
