Abstract

The "docket explosion" the courts in India are facing is a matter of great concern. Administrative Tribunals can be seen as the means to achieve the end, that is the expeditious disposal of cases. The Researcher in this Research Paper tries to explore the laws governing the establishment and functioning of Administrative Tribunals in India. The Researcher has made efforts to record the developments from S.P. Sampath Kumar (1987) to L. Chandra Kumar (1997). Apart from this the Researcher has written to the best of his ability in regards to the nature, functioning, scope of operations and areas of operations so far as Administrative Tribunals are concerned, comparing the Indian Model with the French Model.
