Abstract
This Essay discusses the origins and arrival of the Lemon test for assessing comportment with the U.S. Constitution's Establishment Clause, the challenges and uncertainty the resulting testing structure introduced into this area of constitutional law, and the remedy the endorsement test aspired to bring to this confusion.
