Spanish abstract: Comentario de la conferencia de Stephen Hawking "El principio del tiempo" sobre las implicaciones cosmológicas de la teoría de la relatividad y el Big Bang. Exponemos algunas implicaciones metafísicas y representacionales en relación a la existencia de singularidades, y notamos el problema conceptual planteado por la asimetría del Universo, inexplicable desde la teoría de un origen absolutamente simple.

English abstract: A commentary on Stephen Hawking's lecture "The Beginning of Time" on the cosmological implications of the theory of relativity and the Big Bang. The paper points out some metaphysical and representational implications as regards the existence of singularities, and notes the conceptual problem posed by the assymetry of the Universe, which cannot be derived from an absolutely simple origin.
