Abstract

Large infrastructure projects, such as dams, affect the rights of local inhabitants on many counts. Frequently, local communities are forced to quit their land. State action is involved in this process through eminent domain proceedings. These pages summarize specific provisions in Spanish legislation, which include the possibility to recreate, on voluntary basis, the life and economy of the community forced to migrate.
