Abstract

This is an introduction to "Crimmigration, Surveillance and Security Threats", a special issue of the Queen's Law Journal featuring papers from a workshop the authors organized at Queen's in November 2013. After introducing the genesis of "crimmigration" and tracing its historical antecedents, the authors highlight the contributions of the papers selected for the special issue. We conclude with a plea for a radical reorientation of our thinking about nation states and territorialized borders.

Keywords: crimmigration, surveillance, securitization
