Abstract

We revised this casebook, the first concerning the public trust doctrine, an anti-monopolistic doctrine of ancient origins and contemporary significance, after only two and a half years to account for a number of new developments in the field. These include the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's landmark opinion in Robinson Township v. Commonwealth, a Wisconsin Supreme Court decision narrowing the scope of the public trust doctrine in that state, and several groundwater and atmospheric trust cases which lie on the frontier of the doctrine. The new edition also includes developments abroad, including several cases from Indonesia, a constitutional amendment in Norway, and public access rights in Britain and the Nordic countries.
