Abstract
Based on several months of fieldwork and review of secondary sources commissioned by the Danish Demining Group, this is a detailed study of conflict dynamics and the role of new developments -- including oil exploration, political devolution, and violent extremism -- in five northern Kenya counties (Marsabit, Isiolo, Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa) and portions of eastern Somaliland.
