Abstract

Victoria stands out as having undertaken some innovative steps, both within the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages (BDM), and outside of it. This chapter examines the recommendations of the Victorian Law Reform Commission, and the work of the Victorian BDM Registry to address issues of access to birth registration and certificates.
