Abstract

English Abstract: This is a narratological reading of the metafictional elements in James Cameron's film 'The Terminator' (1984), taken here as a prime example of the retroaction which characterizes narrative structures. The paper focuses on the relationship between story time and the logic of narrativity, on the structural role of the suggestions of circularity or 'self-begetting', and on the Christian echoes underpinning the 'self-begetting' plot, together with other intertextual allusions.
