Abstract
This essay introduces a symposium on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which was adopted in 2007. It notes some concerns — from indigenous groups and from nation states — about the UNDRIP, and offers an overview of the symposium's four articles, addressing property issues in Australia, New Zealand, and Peru, and protection of spiritual expression in Australia.
