Abstract

This article examines the current status of e-lending in the EU and the potential impacts of the extension of the public lending rights scheme on e-publishing markets, libraries, and authors. It concludes that a legislative intervention in the area would be premature and, in a medium term, calls for a stronger dialog and cooperation between the stakeholders.
