Abstract

This is a concise practical set of guidelines on the commentary of literary texts, aimed at undergraduate students of literature. It addresses a number of different aspects in the text and the student's interaction with it: reading, authorship, theme, rhetoric and style, enunciation and address, genre and intertextuality, matters of history and ideology, gender and representation, evaluation, writing style and referencing.
