Abstract

This chapter provides the the history and objectives of the WTO, including the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations; the structure and functions of the WTO as an international organisation; the content of the WTO agreements, including the GATT 1994, the GATS, and the TRIPS Agreement; the WTO dispute settlement system; and the ongoing WTO negotiations pursuant to the Doha Development Agenda.
