Abstract
English Abstract: This is a commentary on Hegel's theorization of intersubjectivity, or 'the internalized Other', as it bears on his theory of action, decision, and perspectivism. Hegel's notion of interiorized otherness, while it is related to the Christian notion of conscience, may be more directly indebted in its intersubjective formulation to Adam Smith's concept of 'the disinterested spectator' as expounded in his 'Theory of Moral Sentiments'.
