Abstract

At one point in time, organizations used to look for the will to succeed and compete in their potential employees. Then, over time, they moved on to more sensitive areas such as emotional intelligence and collaboration. In today’s corporate and business world, one key area of strength that every organization is looking for in their potential leaders, managers and employees is — ‘the desire for excellence’. This paper explores what the basic parameters of excellence are and what the various roles are wherein one needs to exhibit excellence. Apart from the various simple tips on how one can maintain excellence in whatever they do at work, and in life, the paper also looks at how one can create a definition of what excellence means for them and how they can behave in their day-to-day working life so that their every action leads towards excellence. The paper also highlights the impact of one’s values as well as the company policies and how they, in different situations, may help or hinder one’s search for excellence.
