Abstract

This study’s goal is to investigate the role of multiple stakeholders in complex IT adoption projects. Drawing from the experience of enterprise systems (ES) adopters, this study identifies the key players in ES adoption projects and proposes the relationships among the identified groups of stakeholders. Next, the conducted analysis reveals the most critical stakeholders and suggests areas for the improvement of stakeholder management during adoption projects. The article concludes with implications for practitioners and the discussion of future research.
