The 2015 St.Gallen International Competition Law Forum ICF will host a panel dealing with the EU Merger Regulation, its developments over the past years and areas for future improvements. The Forum will take place in St.Gallen, Switzerland on 23 and 24 April 2015.
The following interview between Susanne Zuehlke (Founder and Attorney at Law, E&Z Lawyers (i.G)) and Dr. Juhani Kostka (Legal Counsel, Holcim Group Services) gives you a brief introduction to the topic, outlines some current issues as regards to the cement industry and serves as the perfect outlook for what to expect during the discussions in St.Gallen. Before founding E&Z Lawyers, Ms. Zuehlke was a partner and member of the Latham & Watkins global antitrust and competition practice. Dr. Kostka can not only build on his experience working in the legal department of a global building materials company, but has also worked for a Swiss law firm before making the transition to the industry side. The two will be joined during the St.Gallen ICF by Mr. Thomas Deisenhofer (Head of Unit, DG Competition, European Commission) and Dr. Thomas Wessely (Partner and Attorney-at-Law, Freshfields), who will serve as fellow panel members of the “Recent Developments and the Status of the Merger Control Reform” panel. The panel moderator will be Susanne Zuehlke.
