Abstract

This article (written in 2010) is a scholarly narrative exploring the consequences of same-sex marriage for a couple that moved to a non-recognition state (prior to 2015's Supreme Court Decision in Obergefell). Based on a presentation made November 12, 2010, at the St. John's University School of Law Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development 18th Symposium, "Legal, Secular, and Religious Perspectives on Marriage Equality/Marriage Protection/Same-Sex Marriage."
