Abstract

This piece is sometimes sung by male quartets. An international champion barbershop quartet, The Ritz, featured Doo-Dah at a national music convention and then recorded it on their CD. Fine male choruses, such as the Ohio State University Glee Club and the Bowling Green State University Men’s Chorus, have taken this piece on national tours.

Stephen Collins Foster, known as "the father of American music,” was an American songwriter primarily known for his parlor and minstrel music. Foster wrote over 200 songs; among his best-known are "Oh! Susanna” and “The Camptown Races.”
