Abstract

Rodney Stark is an American author and researcher in the area of sociology of religion. Stark's article 'Secularization R.I.P.' is a well-constructed elaboration on the lack of soundness in the secular argument and a defence of the revival of religion in the public space through the privatization of belief and the renovation of religious, but piety. But Stark is wrong in his assessment as secularisation theory continues to be the central paradigm to address the divide between the secular and the religious worlds in modern era.
