Abstract

March 2016 witnessed brisk activity on Arctic issues. A summit between President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau culminated in a joint statement on climate change impacts on the Arctic and the White House issued a progress report on implementing its National Strategy for the Arctic Region and a Framework for the coming years. In Fairbanks, Alaska, the Arctic Council, the US Arctic Research Commission,a Model Arctic Council, and the Arctic Science Summit Week all brought much needed attention to Arctic issues.
