Abstract

Human beings accepted for centuries that nature, the social world, and the self were given. During the Modern era they assumed that all these realms can be re-engineered due to science and tech. However, evidence shows a growing gap between the re-engineers, activist ambitions -- and what can be achieved. We need now to redefine our ambitions and mobilize science and technology in the service of these new purposes.
