Abstract

This paper examines the body of the law in South Africa concerned with the border control of intellectual property rights against the backdrop of the TRIPs agreement. In particular, the paper focuses majorly on the South African Counterfeit Goods Act of 1997(as amended). It also discusses, among others, relevant provisions of the South African copyright Act, Customs and Excise Act, Merchandise Marks Act and the Trademarks Act.
