Abstract

A very large gathering at any (ticket-less) event, whether ‘planned’ or ‘accidental’, is called as ‘countless crowd’. As huge crowds are sometimes difficult to manage, it is always a challenge for the local administration to estimate a crowd in advance. They must be interested to count/estimate the ‘crowd’, so as to make necessary arrangements. How then such a crowd-size is estimated? We shall discuss in this paper, how it is mathematically estimated and how we face problems, in case of unplanned crowd.
