Abstract

In the context of the last years’ Internet Governance discussions ethical issues have also been addressed, however, the importance of ethics has not been adequately reflected. Additionally, in connection with the diverse online social network’ growing importance clear ethical standards are needed for protecting the users’ privacy. This contribution analyzes the lack of an appropriate accountability of ethical standards and develops lessons for an improvement of the ethics environment.
