Abstract

In the present paper both energy and exergy formulations are developed for Thermodynamic analysis of a power plant. The impact of excess air to boiler pollution (NO, CO, CO2) is studied. The exergy loss distribution indicates that boiler irreversibilities yield the highest exergy losses in the power plant. It shows that the key thermodynamic parameters have significant effects on the performance of the supercritical power cycle and exergy destruction in each component.
