Social Media Communication: Facebook Use Pattern of LIS People

Social media helps people to build social relationship and to communicate in a fastest way. After its initiation in 2005 by Zuckerberg, Facebook become one of the fastest tools for the web 2.0 environment. The LIS people are devoted to community support and adopted this beautiful tool to communicate with its client as well as its peer group. The present study tries to find the usage pattern of Facebook by LIS community. It also searched the reason of using the tool and level of satisfaction by the LIS users. The study launched an online questionnaire and posted it on the ‘wall’ of different LIS groups in the Facebook. The result collected and analysed according to the stated objectives. It found the dominance of young adult LIS professionals as users of Facebook. The result also showed that satisfaction level depends on the experience of the Facebook users and their activities over the media.
