Abstract

Italian Abstract: L’articolo presenta uno studio preliminare di come Dante Alighieri usi suono e silenzio nella Divina Commedia per sottolineare alcuni momenti, stati d’animo e passaggi specifici della sua opera. Sono analizzati in particolare i primi canti dell’Inferno. Nell’articolo è anche proposto un legame tra la poesia di Dante e la teoria del suono e della fonetica che Roberto Grossatesta espone nel suo De Generatione Sonorum.

English Abstract: The paper is presenting a preliminary study on the use of sound and silence made by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy to emphasize some moments, feelings and specific passages of his work. We analyze in particular the first five canti of the Hell. We are also proposing a link between Dante’s poetry and the theory of sound and phonetics that Robert Grosseteste exposes in his De Generatione Sonorum)
