In recent years the evolution of the global market has prompted firms to reconfigure strategies in order to compete and maintain ground on the global business platform. The rapid changes in consumer demand and in technological advancements through innovation has organizations seeking new strategies to maintain market stature by venturing into new opportunities to create consumer demand. While innovation encompasses a broad range of strategic approaches and outputs, the core focus is on making change, which is reflected in the impact of the disruption. The following paper will provide an analysis of Nintendo’s disruptive strategy with the Wii product line and provide a conceptual framework to continue to sustain Nintendo’s success within the video game industry.
