In 1901, Trotsky wrote an article entitled "An old question," which has devoted to critics of the women's movement. Trotsky believed that the woman's question is not independent. Strictly speaking, there is not a women's issue but there are many women's issues. However, the high-class opinión - whether man or woman - will be very different from the views of the proletariat. So different social positions can influence man/woman's opinion in the highest degree. Trotsky argues that class differences are more important than gender. This led to the fact that Trotskyism had paid insufficient attention to the women's movement. The idea of women's movement as anti-capitalist vs anti-patriarchal is a very important moment when we discuss future of feminist studies.
