Abstract

October 10, 2016 is the "First Monday in October" for the Supreme Court and 100 years from October 9, 1916, the first date that Louis Brandeis sat on the Court. This article highlights the ten most significant legal issues for which Brandeis is known (both as an advocate and a jurist), and tracks the connection of how a substantial number of the 250 milestones in the history of law highlighted in The Law Book, written by Michael H. Roffer, can be traced directly (or at the very least, indirectly) back to Brandeis.

Keywords: Legal History, Louis Brandeis, Supreme Court
