Abstract

This paper examines the money demand function for Sri Lanka for the post independence period. Post independence Sri Lanka has gone through different policy regimes when the successfulness of the monetary policy was challenged. Special attention is given to the period 1960- 2002 during which different types of economic policies were experimented. The post 1977 era recorded major developments in the financial sector as well as the international sector and the manufacturing sector of the economy. The empirical results suggests ----
