Abstract

This article examines the recent proliferation of statistics about LGBT people and the use of those statistics by LGBT advocacy organizations focused on legal reform. The article examines the eugenics origins of statistical methods and asks what light those origins shed on the ways legal equality focused advocates are portraying LGBT populations in numbers.
