Abstract
This contribution discusses cross-border mediation in family matters in the Netherlands. It focuses on two types of mediations: mediations in divorce proceedings with an international element and mediations in the context of international child abduction cases. It places these mediations in the wider context of mediation in the Netherlands and describes both the legal framework and the practical and legal problems which arise in the cross-border context.
