English Abstract: The “China in WTO at 10th” International Workshop and Roundtable on WTO Law held in Xi’an Jiaotong University Law School was a great success, with more than 160 international and national officers, experts, scholars and participants actively debating on important WTO trade rules and mechanisms, the developments of WTO trading system and the lessons, experience and prospects of China in the first ten years of membership. It is held that the WTO is facing a series of challenges and to tackle them it is essential not only to further strengthen the research on the fundamental principles and rules of the WTO with a view to improving them, but also to make efforts to complete the Doha round negotiation and to enhance protections in the form of Free Trade Agreements. The past decade was a great success story to China, but it did not come without a price or problems. China needs to conduct more thoroughly study on WTO rules and principles and to more closely align its domestic laws and regulations with such rules. She shall also make good use of the opportunity of the WTO reformation to actively participate in international trade rule-making with a view to safeguarding her interests. The workshop and roundtable have propelled in-depth exchange between scholars and practitioners from both China and abroad, providing a rare opportunity and excellent experience for furthering the interaction between China and the WTO.
