Abstract

Student participation is often overlooked while discussing quality in higher education. The paper proposes a concentric model of quality in Universities which brings back the centrality of students, the role of teachers and the linkage between human development and student quality in higher education. The central argument is that the best minds must produce high social returns and reduce rent seeking behavior.

Keywords: Student participation, Higher education, Concentric model
