Abstract

This paper attempts to evaluate the impact of ports in the generation of a rapid and sustainable economic growth in the case of developing and least developed countries. In addition, we are reviewing successful cases from different port cities such as Tokyo, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hong Kong, and Hamburg. Our research approach is from a historical analysis and economic modelling together to evaluate the large and constant positive spillover effect of ports in developing and least developed countries from a technological, social, political, and economics point of view.
