Abstract

This article analyses the transposition of Directive 2004/38 into Portuguese Law, as well as its evolution. In particular, it focuses on the transposition of the rights of entry, residence and removal, as well as on the problems identified in the access to employment in the private and public sector and to social benefits; the situation of frontier workers and sportsmen; the maritime sector, and access to scholarships. Family reunification issues in Portugal are also examined.
