Abstract

Korean Abstract: □ 최근 일부 생산 관련 지표의 부진이 완화되었으나, 경기 개선 추세는 여전히 미약한 것으로 판단됨.

○ 생산 관련 지표가 전월의 부진에서 반등한 가운데, 소매판매액과 건설기성은 비교적 큰 폭의 증가세를 나타냄.

╺ 광공업 생산과 출하가 기저효과에 일부 기인하여 증가로 전환되면서 금년 들어 지속된 부진이 다소 완화

╺ 민간소비는 소매판매를 중심으로 비교적 완만한 증가세를 유지하고 있으며, 건설투자도 건축과 토목 모두 양호한 흐름을 지속하는 모습

○ 그러나 수출과 설비투자의 부진이 지속되는 가운데 제조업 평균가동률도 낮은 수준에 머물면서 경기 회복을 제약하고 있음.

╺ 수출이 6월 중 선박 수출의 일시적 확대로 인해 감소폭이 축소되었으나, 선박을 제외한 수출은 전 월과 유사한 감소세를 지속하면서 부진한 모습

╺ 설비투자도 기계류를 중심으로 부진한 가운데, 제조업 평균가동률이 낮은 수준에 머무는 등 설비투자 여건이 개선되지 못하고 있음.

╺ 이에 따라, 제조업을 중심으로 취업자 증가세가 둔화되는 가운데 경제 활동 참가율과 고용률도 점차 하락하는 등 고용시장이 다소 위축되고 있음.

English Abstract: - The slowdown in production-related indicators moderated, but the upward momentum in overall economic activities has been insignificant.

- Production-related indicators rebounded from last month’s sluggishness while retail sales and the value of construction completed improved significantly.

- Mining and manufacturing production and shipments turned upward partly due to the base effect, signaling a slight moderation of the continued slump since the beginning of this year.

- Private consumption was sustained with a relatively gradual growth mainly in retail sales. And construction investment saw continued favorable trends in both building construction and civil engineering.

- However, exports and facilities investment remained in a slump while the manufacturing capacity utilization rate stayed low, weighing down on the economic recovery.

- The decline in exports eased in June due to the temporary increase in vessel exports, while exports of other items remained tepid, showing a similar drop as a month ago.

- Facilities investment slackened mainly in machinery, and the manufacturing capacity utilization rate remained low implying little improvement in the condition for facilities investment.

- Consequently, employment growth slowed mainly in manufacturing, while the rates of labor force participation and employment receded gradually, a sign of slight contraction in the employment market.
