Abstract

Korean Abstract: □ 최근 우리 경제는 대외여건 악화에 따라 수출 감소세가 지속되는 가운데, 내수는 소비를 중심으로 부진이 다소 완화되는 모습

○ 광공업생산은 감소세가 지속되었으나 서비스업생산은 전월에 비해 개선

○ 내수는 투자 부진이 지속되는 가운데, 민간소비를 중심으로 전월에 비해 부진이 다소 완화

- 민간소비는 내구재를 중심으로 비교적 높은 증가율을 기록

- 설비투자와 건설투자는 소폭 증가하였으나, 상당 부분 기저효과에 기인

○ 대내외 경제여건 악화를 반영하여 수출과 수입 모두 감소세를 지속

- 최근의 수출 감소(금액 기준)는 지난 3월 이후 하락세를 지속하고 있는 수출단가 하락에도 기인

○ 노동시장은 취업자 증가세가 유지되는 가운데 고용률이 상승하고 실업률도 하락

- 서비스업, 50대 이상 연령층, 자영업자 중심의 취업자 증가세가 지속

○ 물가는 농축수산물가격 하락에 주로 기인하여 전월보다 상승률이 하락

○ 세계경제는 주요국의 성장세가 둔화되고 국제유가가 상승하는 등 불확실성이 다소 확대되는 모습

English Abstract:

The Korean economy showed a continuing decline in exports influenced by worsening external conditions and a slightly reduced stagnation in domestic demand, mainly consumption. The mining and manufacturing production continued to decline, but the service production improved, compared to the previous month.

Amid continuing weak investment, the stagnation in domestic demand has been slightly reduced mainly in private consumption, compared to the previous month.

- Private consumption rose at a relatively high rate mainly in durable goods.

- Both equipment and construction investment rose slightly, largely due to the base effect.

Both imports and exports continued to fall, reflecting deteriorating economic conditions at home and abroad.

- Recent decline in exports (value basis) is attributable to the continuous fall in export unit prices since last March.

The labor market saw employment rate rise and unemployment rate fall amid a continuing increase in the number of employed.

- The number of employed continued to rise mainly in service industry and among those aged 50 or older and among the self-employed.

The CPI inflation recorded a lower growth rate than the previous month, mainly due to the fall in the prices of agricultural, livestock, and fisheries products.

The global economy faced slower growth in major countries and a rise in oil prices, suggesting slightly increasing uncertainties.
