Abstract

One hundred years after the Russian revolutions of 1917, the article deals with Soviet approaches to the right of peoples to self-determination. Is true that in 1917 and afterwords, Lenin and the Soviets contributed significantly to the establishment of the right of peoples to self-determination as principle of international law? The article examines the thesis of the Bolshevik contribution to the right of peoples to self-determination in international law from a critical historical perspective.
