Abstract

This paper draws parallelism between the Originalist method in interpreting the US Constitution and the tools of analogy and consensus used to deduce rules in Charia Law. It calls for the reform of religious discourse in Egypt by criticizing the basis of the aformentioned tools, which is a vision of the world that has deep nostalgia for the Past.

Keywords: American Constitution, Originalism, Sharia Law
