Abstract

Wide range of academic fields use content analysis. In the core of most common content analysis lies frequency distribution of individual words. Web sites are mined for usage of certain words as well as for their frequency. We introduce a useful user written command wordfreq to download on-line content and to prepare a frequency distribution of individual words. Additionally, a simple word cloud chart is prepared for visual analysis of the frequent usage of specific words.

Keywords: word counting, frequency distribution, content analysis, word cloud.
