Abstract

This essay describes the efforts of University of Cincinnati College of Law students and faculty to achieve the ratification of the 14th Amendment by Ohio in 2003; the state had initially ratified it in 1867, but withdrew its ratification before the Amendment became effective. In 2003, the legislature enthusiastically corrected this mistake and ratified the amendment without reservation.
