Abstract
This paper explores the issue of social security in the context of undocumented immigrants from Mexico in the United States and examines self-help options Mexican immigrants have at their disposal until policy-makers come up with a genuine alternative. The case of Mexican migrants to the United States is unique because of historical and trade relationships between the two countries.
