Abstract
Governments, regulatory authorities and corporate governance bodies around the world have recently stressed the importance of practices and standards that help move forward toward sustainable economic models. This noticeable trend, nurtured in the aftermath of the numerous accounting frauds and financial scandals, and strengthened in the wake of the recent financial crises, has led to calls for more ethical and responsible actions in all economic activities. The Research Handbook of Finance and Sustainability, which comprises 31 chapters from 64 authors around the world, aims at providing the readers with the latest thoughts, ideas and propositions regarding corporate social responsibility, environmental and entrepreneurial finance, governance, and fraud. Overall, it shows that despite the fact that ethics in business and CSR rules have been adopted in various countries, more efforts need to be devoted to motivate and empower more actors to integrate ethical behavior and rules in making business and managerial decisions.
